Golden Plains Shire Council welcomes three funding announcements from the Australian Labor Party (ALP): $750,000 for the reconstruction of the Linton Recreation Reserve Oval, $500,000 for oval and netball lighting at Woady Yaloak Recreation Reserve in Smythesdale and $350,000 towards the Maude Community Hub.

The funding was announced by Federal Member for Ballarat Catherine King on Thursday 28 April and will be delivered if the ALP wins the Federal Election on 21 May.

The $880,000 Linton Oval Reconstruction project includes a complete reconstruction of the playing field at Linton Recreation Reserve to deliver a safe, reliable and compliant oval that can be better utilised year-round and support current and future sports participation and social use.

The $650,000 project for new lighting on the oval and netball courts at Woady Yaloak Recreation Reserve, Smythesdale, will provide increased opportunities to program sporting and community activities, training and matches, and events, promoting greater participation in physical activity in this growing township.

The $700,000 Maude Community Hub project will deliver a new pavilion at the Maude Recreation Reserve, designed to cater to the recreation and community needs of the township and increase community connectedness and wellbeing. The new pavilion will include a large social room suitable for community events, function and meetings, a viewing deck and accessible access.
