Federal Election: Funding Commitments for Golden Plains Shire townships in the Corangamite electorate

With the Federal Election on Saturday 21 May, the major political parties have made significant election commitments to the communities of Golden Plains Shire. 

In the Corangamite electorate, there are two election commitments that have been made in Golden Plains Shire by both the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and the Liberal Party:

  • $700,000 towards the $1.4 million Inverleigh Active Youth Space
  • $690,000 towards the $1.4 million project for a new netball pavilion at Victoria Park in Bannockburn

This funding will be delivered if either the ALP or the Liberal Party wins the election on 21May. 

The ALP has made a further two election commitments for Golden Plains in the Corangamite electorate, to be delivered if the ALP wins the election on 21 May:

  • $450,000 towards the $1.1 million expansion of the Bannockburn Family Services Centre
  • $170,000 for an undercover basketball court at Inverleigh Primary School

The Liberal Party has made the following election commitment for Golden Plains in the Corangamite electorate, to be delivered if the Liberal Party wins the election on 21 May:

  • A new satellite location of headspace, the youth mental health service, in Bannockburn
