Golden Plains Shire Councillors elected Cr Brett Cunningham as Mayor of Golden Plains Shire for 2022-23 at a meeting of Council at the Golden Plains Civic Centre in Bannockburn, tonight.
At the same meeting, Councillors elected Cr Gavin Gamble as the Deputy Mayor of Golden Plains Shire for 2022-23.
Mayor Cr Cunningham stated:
“It is an honour and a privilege to be elected as the Mayor of Golden Plains Shire Council.
“With an honest, and hard work ethic, I am passionate about the local communities in Golden Plains. The coming 12 months will be challenging for residents of our community and I look forward to continuing to work and serve the residents of Golden Plains, now in the position of Mayor.”
Mayor Cr Cunningham was elected to serve his first term as a Golden Plains Shire Councillor in 2020. Deputy Mayor Cr Gamble is also serving his first term as a Golden Plain Shire Councillor and was Mayor of Golden Plains Shire for 2021-22.
Mayor Cr Cunningham attended the meeting virtually whilst on a leave of absence.
