Election Of Golden Plains Shire Mayor 2021-22

Golden Plains Shire Councillors elected Cr Gavin Gamble as Mayor of Golden Plains Shire for 2021-2022 at a meeting of Council at the Golden Plains Civic Centre in Bannockburn, tonight.

At the same meeting, Councillors elected Cr Helena Kirby as the Deputy Mayor of Golden Plains Shire for 2021-2022.

Mayor Cr Gamble was elected to serve his first term as a Golden Plains Shire Councillor in 2020. Deputy Mayor Cr Kirby is serving her fourth consecutive term as a Golden Plain Shire Councillor and served as Mayor in 2017-18 and 2020-21.

Mayor Cr Gamble stated:

“It is a privilege and honour to be elected as Mayor of Golden Plains Shire for 2021-22. I have a genuine passion for this Shire - its environment, its people, its diversity and its potential.

"I feel excited about the possibility to achieve great things for our community. The second year of our Council term will be busy as we move forward on delivering the Council Plan 2021-2025 for the people of Golden Plains Shire.”
