Golden Plains Shire Council recently partnered with Breast Screen Victoria to make it easier for locals to access breast screen services.

On Tuesday 7 March, six local women aged between 50 and 75 participated in the free program which involved transportation to the Ballarat BreastScreen clinic. Pick up points were located at The Heart in Bannockburn and The Well in Smythesdale, with additional pick-up points organised for Scarsdale and Rokewood.

In addition to free transport to the clinic, the event included refreshments at a nearby café, wellbeing packs promoting healthy habits and self-care, a breast screen mammogram appointment and a social wellness activity run by the Health, Wellbeing and Youth team.
