Following an extensive recruitment process, Council announces the appointment of Steven Sagona as Director Community Services.
Steven has a strong connection with Golden Plains and a significant professional history with Council, starting work with the organisation as a town planner in 1995 and most recently serving as Acting Director Community Services since August 2021.
Steven’s 25 years of local government experience includes executive leadership and management consulting across corporate, community, development and infrastructure services. Steven established and managed a successful local government management and strategy consulting practice for 10 years, followed by 5 years in multiple interim executive roles at director and manager level across a number of metropolitan, regional and rural councils. Steven’s professional experience is focused on developing culture, embedding values, enhancing leadership and building teams.
After spending part of his early career at Council, Steven returns as Director Community Services, keen to apply a strong strategic planning focus to the unique circumstances shaping community service provision in Golden Plains, including high rates of growth and a population disbursed across many small towns and communities.
