Community Recreation Projects Progress to Detailed Design

Detailed Design
Sport & Recreation

Golden Plains Shire Council is pleased to announce community recreation projects in Inverleigh and Bannockburn have progressed to detailed design and will now undergo public tender processes to appoint contractors for construction.

Council extends its gratitude to the dedicated community members who actively participated in shaping the Inverleigh Active Youth Space project and the Bannockburn Skate Bowl project through their valuable input. Your thoughts and ideas have been instrumental in advancing these projects to the detailed design phase following extensive community consultation.

Inverleigh Active Youth Space

A community driven project, the Inverleigh Active Youth Space will expand and develop the Yerram Yaluk Bun Play Space in Inverleigh to an active recreation and community space, with the upgraded facility to include a new skate park, pump track, 3X3 basketball courts, seating, shelters, alongside lighting and beautification works.

These updates will provide residents, user groups and the wider community with greater scope to encourage physical activity, outdoor play and increase participation in active recreation.

Bannockburn Skate Bowl

The second stage of the Bannockburn Skate Park upgrade project will extend the current skate park to cater to intermediate and advanced skaters, while providing a space for young people in the Shire to stay active, healthy and engaged.

Along with the skate bowl, the detailed design also includes supporting infrastructure such as lighting, furniture, landscaping and a shelter.

The new additions will further enhance this recreational and social space to support the rapidly growing local community.
