Climate Emergency Plan Workshop Postponed

Due to COVID-19 related staffing issues, the in-person Climate Emergency Plan Workshop scheduled for this Saturday 12 March will be postponed.

The rescheduled session will now take place from 12 to 2pm on Saturday 2 April at the Dereel Soldiers Memorial Hall, 14 Swamp Road, Dereel.

Climate Emergency Plan Workshops are open to all community members and are being held on:

Thursday 17 March: 5:30 to7:30pm to be held online via Zoom.
Wednesday 23 March: 6 to 8pm in Smythesdale.
Thursday 31 March: 6 to 8pm in Teesdale.
Saturday 2 April: 12 to 2pm in Dereel.

Officers from Council’s Environment & Sustainability team will be attending Smythesdale Country Market at the Smythesdale Green on Saturday 19 March, to discuss the development of the Climate Emergency Plan.

Council is preparing the Golden Plains Climate Emergency Plan 2022-2032 and wants to hear from all Golden Plains community members. To help shape the Climate Emergency Plan, community members are invited to complete the Climate Emergency Plan Survey online, or pick up a paper copy from Council’s Customer Service Centres, 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn or The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
