The 2021 Golden Plains Youth Battle of the Bands has been postponed and will now to be held at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre on Friday 17 September.
Battle of the Bands gives Golden Plains youth an important opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a large, supportive audience of their peers. Postponed due to COVID restrictions, the event will allow more people to attend and ensure that these young musicians are able to gain this valuable experience.
The event now aligns with the September school holidays, making it more accessible for Golden Plains youth and giving our young performers more time to get stage ready. A youth-led event, Battle of the Bands is organised by the Golden Plains Youth Committee. Council is committed to supporting the Committee to run a successful event, while gaining valuable event management experience and an insight into career pathways in the music and events industries.
Council will continue to support the Golden Plains Youth Committee as they plan, implement, and deliver all aspects of the postponed event.
Registrations for performers will remain open, and young musicians, bands, digital artists and soloists aged 12 to 25 are encouraged to register by contacting the Golden Plain Youth Development team at [email protected] or 5220 7111.
