Golden Plains Shire Council has developed a concept design of the Bannockburn Skate Bowl to be constructed as part of the second stage of the Bannockburn Skate Park upgrade project.
The concept design is available on Council’s website and Council invites the community to view and provide feedback on the concept design, with feedback open until 9am, Monday 1 May 2023.
During stage one of the upgrade works, and following feedback from the community, Council secured funding from the Victorian Government for stage two of the Bannockburn Skate Park Upgrade to construct a skate bowl. Since the announcement of the funding in October 2022, Council has worked to develop the concept design.
The second stage of the Bannockburn Skate Park upgrade project will extend the current skate park to cater to intermediate and advanced skaters, while providing a space for young people in the Shire to stay active, healthy and engaged.
Along with the skate bowl, the concept design also includes supporting infrastructure such as lighting, furniture, landscaping and a shelter.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham was delighted to now be able to extend the park to include a skate bowl that caters to more intermediate and advanced skaters.
The community told us that they wanted to see a skate bowl as part of Bannockburn Skate Park Upgrade project, and, thanks to funding from the Victorian State Government, we are excited to be able to deliver that.
Council welcomes residents’ feedback on the concept design and we look forward to the construction of the design as the next stage of the Bannockburn Skate Park upgrade.
The Bannockburn Skate Park is an impressive recreation facility for young people in our Shire and the construction of the Skate Bowl will be a valuable addition that we know residents, and visitors to the Shire will all enjoy.
Stage two of the Bannockburn Skate Park Upgrade is funded by $805,000 from the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.
