Council is hosting a series of free activities for young people aged 12 to 25 years throughout the upcoming Autumn School Holidays, with fantastic activities running from Tuesday 2 April to Thursday 11 April 2024. 

The free Autumn holiday activities held across the Shire have been designed to support the needs and interests of young people, while also providing opportunities to learn new skills and connect with other young people.

The full list of school holiday activities available are:

Week one:

  • Tuesday 2 April, 12 to 4pm – Movie Afternoon at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
  • Wednesday 3 April, 12 to 3pm – Bannockburn Heart BBQ at the Bannockburn Heart, Cnr Milton and High Streets, Bannockburn.
  • Thursday 4 April, 6 to 8.30pm – Geelong Gaol Ghost Tour at the Geelong Gaol, 202 Myers Street, Geelong.

Week two:

  • Tuesday 8 April, 12 to 4pm – Acrylic Pour at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
  • Wednesday 9 April, 1 to 3pm – BMX Skate Workshop at Bannockburn Skate Park, Moore Street, Bannockburn.
  • Thursday 11 April, 10am to 5.30pm – Titanic Artefact Exhibition at the Melbourne Museum, 11 Nicholson Street, Carlton.

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said the Autumn Holiday Program supported young people with a great range of activities available across the Shire.

“Council’s free school holiday program is a great opportunity for young people to mix with their peers while enjoying a range of fun and exciting activities,” Cr Cunningham said.
