Art Hero: Anne Langdon

Arts, Culture & Heritage
Smythesdale

Anne Langdon, a veteran of the Golden Plains Arts Trail, looks forward to another great year on the Trail, an event she believes in and loves to be a part of.

Hamilton-born Anne is now based in Smythesdale and is well-known in Golden Plains Shire for her talents in the art arena.

“I work from a printmaking base but incorporate other mediums to create collage. I also paint and make sculpture,” said Anne of her main mediums.

“My artworks are a whimsical journey of my environment and my life,” she added.

In 1984, Ann completed her Diploma in Fine Art (B.C.A.E) in Bendigo, Victoria. She now has string of solo and group exhibitions to her name, dating back to 1986.

Anne admits it is art that has given her life much meaning and joy. She said, “Art makes me feel fulfilled, excited, passionate and most of all, satisfied.”

While Anne’s dedication to her calling has been diligent, she is thankful to all the people who have supported her along the way. She is very grateful for the encouragement she has received from the people around her over the years; it has propelled her to further refine her skills, and keep going.

Anne is pleased to be part of the 2018 Arts Trail, where she will invite visitors to explore her own studio in Smythesdale. She will have a variety of pieces on display for art-goers to peruse or buy. She said, “I have a range of new and old works on paper, prints collage and painting, and cards will also be available.”

“I look forward to providing the opportunity for visitors to view a working studio; chatting with them and exchanging ideas at the 2018 Golden Plains Arts Trail” finished Anne.

Anne will exhibit at the Golden Plains Arts Trail – North Trail (17-18 March) from the Ann Langdon Studio, 35 Vermont Road, Smythesdale.
