Berrybank Wind Farm has partnered with Golden Plains Shire Council to deliver the 2024 Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Program. Applications for this year’s grants program will open on Wednesday 1 May and close at 2pm, Friday 31 May 2024.

The Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Program provides funding opportunities to support local community, business, and tourism events and projects in Golden Plains Shire.

Community and business groups or organisations are eligible to apply for grant funding in two categories:

  • Tourism projects
  • Economic Development projects

If the applicant is a community group, the applicant must seek funding for amounts exceeding $10,000. Applicants can submit multi-year applications for both categories, for a maximum of three years.

Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said the Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants program continued to provide significant grant funding opportunities to support local groups.

“We are proud to partner with the Berrybank Wind Farm to deliver this important grant funding which helps Golden Plains community groups champion and celebrate our region through their economic development and tourism activities,” Cr Cunningham said.

“Council also strongly encourages potential applicants to contact Council's Community Development and Grants Officer before applying for a grant. This helps ensure all requirements are met for their application.”

There is $65,000 of funding available for this program in 2024. A further $35,000 has previously been committed for the following projects: Golden Plains Arts Trail (GP Arts Inc.), Teesdale Twilight Market and Carols (Teesdale Community Events), Shelford Duck Race (Shelford Duck Race), Bunjil Lookout Community Gathering (Maude, She Oaks and Steiglitz Community Planning Group), Valentine’s Bush Dance and Winter Solstice (Cape Clear Recreation Reserve Committee of Management), and the Shelford Public Hall Rejuvenation Project (Shelford Public Hall Reserve Committee of Management).
