After more than a decade of lobbying, advocacy and community action, the new Bannockburn P-12 College has opened its doors.

Tuesday 30 January was an historic day for Golden Plains, as more than 650 students in their smart new College uniforms made their way to the new school for the first time.

This school has been built with the future in mind – able to accommodate almost 2000 students!  The state-of-the-art facilities include everything from food technology (shining kitchens) to science laboratories, wood work and welding along with a great theatrette and dance and recording studios.

Felicity Bolitho, Bannockburn School Council President said, “Every child who walks into this school will have every opportunity to take up their passion and learn!”

Council thanks and congratulates everyone who was involved in making this happen, including the State Government. Special mention goes out to Jaala Pulford, Member for Western Victoria and Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Regional Development; Sarah Henderson, Member for Corangamite; James Merlino, Deputy Premier and Minister for Education; the G21 Region Alliance and the Golden Plains’ community.
