Once again, the public will have an opportunity to “meet the makers” as the Hidden Gems group of artists open their studios over the weekend 18th/19th April 2026.
The studios are within 10 minutes of each other which makes it an enjoyable mini-arts trail.
The Haddon studios of - Vida Pearson/Fred Ross and Kate Wise are within walking distance of each other. The Well in Smythesdale has Glynis Bryden and Lisa Hunter exhibiting and further on in Smythesdale you will find “Birchgrove” the studio of Anne Langdon and the artists she has invited to exhibit with her. Rosie Grundell can be found in Lemajics Road and then it is a short 10min. drive to Sylvia Aguirre on the Ross Creek-Haddon Road, Steve Drew in Nintingbool Road, Vanessa Brady and Red Echidna Studios at Smythes Creek and another 5 mins. to Raintree Art in Cambrian Hill. Their studios open twice a year as an opportunity to connect with art lovers and show their skills in their chosen mediums.
For those looking to buy an original gift this is an opportunity – something local, handmade, and unique. They all work in different mediums and offer a diverse range of subject matter and style.
The studios offer printmaking, artisan furniture, painting, ceramics, sculpture, textiles and Aboriginal art. A chance to explore your local region with the bonus of interesting artists to chat to and wonderful artwork to view. They look forward to welcoming visitors from 10.00 – 4.00 both days.
