The nfp Back to Steiglitz Association (BtS) have been invited to create an event as part of this year’s Australian Heritage Festival. Their theme is ‘Change;’ encouraging a reinterpretation of what & how local history is experienced.
That’s why, instead of only looking at life in this 1800s goldrush town, we’re focusing on some of the strong women who stayed on after the mining stopped. Women who made this rugged landscape their home. The Matriarchs of our community.
So, we’re inviting you to bring the family and head just down the road to enjoy a day of delicious home-cooking, strolling through heritage buildings, appreciate the skills of local artists, browse a wealth of stories & photos, listen to poetry, book a tour, or be one of the first to revel in the sensory experience of a Forest Bathing Workshop.
