Come along to a Community Emergency Management Plan Session. Offering a facilitated, community-led planning process that brings residents together to identify risks, resources and priorities. Together you will co-create a locally owned Emergency Management Plan.
Saturday 2 May, at the Maude CFA Station from 10am to 4pm.
In this session you will:
- Identify local hazards, vulnerabilities and exposure points
- Map community assets, strengths and local capabilities
- Clarify roles and shared responsibilities before, during and after emergencies
- Develop a locally owned Community Emergency Management Plan including a community communications plan
- Strengthen local networks and social capital
- The CEMP process ensures that emergency planning is grounded in local knowledge and community priorities, enhancing relevance and ownership.
The aim of this program is to increase community capacity and capability before, during and after disasters, improve understanding of local risks unique to each township, build confidence in household and community-level emergency preparedness, strengthen local networks, partnerships and community connections, support communities to become more resilient in the face of emergencies and enhance collaboration with key emergency partners including SES and CFA.
