You're invited to participate in the Golden Plains Beyond Age Project!
Golden Plains Shire is partnering with Senior Rights Victoria to deliver the Beyond Age Project to Golden Plains Shire residents to support World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
About the Beyond Age Project:
Beyond Age is a creative storytelling and portrait project, celebrating life experience, personal reflection, and resilience. The project provides a safe and supportive space to share perspectives on ageing and challenge ageism in our community.

Who can take part?
We invite community members aged 50 years and over who live in the Golden Plains Shire to participate.
What to expect:
- The workshop will be facilitated by Senior Rights Victoria.
- Participants will be gently encouraged to take part in guided conversations about their personal experiences of ageing and ageism.
- Participants are asked to bring one photograph from their 20s, 30s or 40s. The photo will be scanned on the day and immediately returned.
- The photograph will be used to respond to the reflective question: “What would you tell your younger self now about getting older?”
- A photograph of each participant will be taken during the workshop.
- Only your first name will be used in the storyboard.
- Lunch and entertainment included.
Bookings are essential. To book, enquire about transport, or discuss any access or support needs, contact Council’s Community Inclusion Team on 5220 7111 or email [email protected].
