Council conducted a community engagement process on the proposed lease of land on the west boundary of the Rokewood Works Depot (Kuruc-a-Ruc Road) for the purposes of establishing a mobile telecommunications facility.
The proposed lease is for Amplitel Pty Ltd, part of the Telstra Group, to secure the land for a period of 20 years and establish a mobile telecommunications facility. The facility aims to improve network coverage and enhance data speeds for mobile phone and internet technology in the local area.
Under the Local Government Act 2020, in the event where Council seeks to enter a Lease for a term longer than 10 years there is a requirement to undertake community consultation to seek community input.
Engagement Update
Feedback on the proposed lease was invited from Monday 19 January 2026 to 5pm, Friday 6 February 2026.
