About 

The Golden Plains Shire Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) sought Expressions of Interest from community members to join the Committee in a voluntary capacity.

The MEMPC is a multi-agency Committee responsible for developing and maintaining a plan that addresses emergencies within the municipal footprint. The Golden Plains Shire MEMPC is made up of representatives from the CFA, Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, FRV, ERV, VIC SES, VCC-EM, Red Cross, St John Ambulance, and Golden Plains Shire Council.

Locals who are passionate about their community and want to be involved in the development and implementation of strategies to ensure community safety during emergency events were encouraged to apply. 

Community representatives will serve a term of 2 years on the MEMPC and will be expected to attend 2 meetings per year. Meetings take place at the Golden Plains Civic Centre in Bannockburn and/or via online Teams link.

Expressions of interest will be assessed against the following criteria by a panel of current MEMPC representatives:

  • An understanding of the communities in Golden Plains and the risks they face
  • Demonstrated community links
  • Knowledge of Victorian emergency management arrangements
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to provide community perspective over personal perspective

Engagement Update

Expression of Interest (EOI) were invited from Thursday 5 February to 5pm, Tuesday 3 March 2026.

What Happens Next

Successful community members will be notified at the conclusion of the EOI period.
