There are a range of permits that could be required to get your business up and running or take it to the next level. Golden Plains Shire Council has designed a self-assessment tool that will help you understand what permits your business may require and what triggers each permit.

Whether you are a new or established business, you will probably need a permit to operate - you may even need more than one. Planning

A Planning Permit from Council gives permission to use, develop or subdivide a particular piece of land in line with the requirements of the Golden Plains Shire Planning Scheme and Planning and Environment Act 1987.

You might require a Planning Permit due to zoning or overlay regulations or other more particular provisions in the planning scheme (for example those related to car parking reduction or liquor licences).
