Family Day Care
Family Day Care is a home-based licensed children’s service operated by Golden Plains Shire Council, provided for children from six weeks to 12 years of age. There are a number of Family Day Care Educators located throughout the shire who provide care and education for children from their homes.
Family Day Care Hours of Operation
The hours of operation are set by the individual Family Day Care Educator. Care is available Monday to Friday.
FEES
Due to the number of Government subsidies available, the cost of care is different for each family.

Quality of Care
The service operates in accordance with Commonwealth Guidelines, Department of Education & Training, and the National Quality Framework.
Staff Qualifications
Family Day Care Educators are recruited by Golden Plains Shire Council and provide regular support and monitoring from Council's Child and Family Services team. Educators are required to hold a Certificate III in Children's Services and undergo a Police Check. Educators must also maintain current Working with Children Check and Senior First Aid (incl: CPR, Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis Management Training).
Family Day Care Educators must follow procedures and policies compliant with National Education and Care Regulations and Law, all of which are implemented to maintain the safety and wellbeing of children cared for in their homes. The educator’s home also requires auditing to meet safety regulations to ensure the wellbeing of everyone.
