Community Signs - Booking Form

Community Sign Spaces
Golden Plains Shire is home to many community run events and in order to support safe signage for events in the region, Council has provided eleven signage locations and has made them available for community use. 

Before placing a booking request, please read the below information carefully to ensure your event is eligible to use the community sign spaces.

Before requesting a community sign space, please ensure your event meets the following criteria:

  • The event must be held within the Golden Plains Shire boundaries.
  • Bookings are subject to availability.  Preference for specific sites will be given to ‘not for profit’ events in that locality. 
  • Community Sign Spaces cannot be used to promote a business
  • Frames are only to be used for the promotion of community events. Organisers must have completed an event registration and/or event application to be eligible to book the signage space.
Community signs placement is the responsibility of the organisers and must meet the following conditions:
  • Provision of the sign and all costs associated are the responsibility of the event organisers.
  • There is no charge to utilise the signage space.
  • All signs must be removed by midday Monday following the bookings conclusion
  • Signs must only be displayed for a maximum of 4 weeks
  • Signs are to be well presented, legible to passing traffic and professionally prepared. 
  • All signs must be 1200 x 1200mm and constructed of corflute.
  • Signage text should be kept to a minimum – allowing it to be easily read by passersby
  • Lettering should be at least 100mm 
  • Allow a 60mm border around the sign.  
  • Signs must not be offensive or contain any moving parts or reflective material including fluorescent paints. 
  • A draft of artwork MUST be included with this application.

Safety Checklist for Placing Out Community Signs:
  • When placing signage please refer to the Safe Work Method Statement 
  • Be aware of all surrounding traffic.
  • Exit your car from the side furthest from traffic.
  • Always use your hazard lights.
  • Wear a fluro vest if available.
  • Do not insert or remove the signs alone.
  • Children should not be on the site, if present they must remain in the car.
  • Report any faults to 5220 7111

There are 11 frames available to book in strategic locations around the Shire. Please indicate below which frames you would like to utilise.

When using the Community Signage Frames you are required to place & remove your own artwork from the Golden Plains Shire Frame. Please ensure your sign is solidly affixed to the frame by utilising the bolt available in the centre of each space. When placing signage please refer to the Safe Work Method Statement and follow the below safety checklist:

  • Be aware of all surrounding traffic.
  • Exit your car from the side furthest from traffic.
  • Always use your hazard lights.
  • Wear a fluro vest if available.
  • Do not insert or remove the signs alone.
  • Children should not be on the site, if present they must remain in the car.
  • Report any faults to 5220 7221

 

Agreement
Personal information collected on this form will be used by Council’s Customer Experience complete this application and provide a booking for a Community Sign Space. 
Council may disclose your information to other internal departments Communications, Engagement & Advocacy and Community Development in order to provide this community sign space and will not be disclosed to any external party without your consent, unless required or authorised to do so by law.

If you do not provide us with all required information Council will be unable to booking the Community Sign Space.  You have the right to access your personal information and make any necessary corrections.
