Golden Plains Shire Council sought community input on the draft Asset Management Strategy and Policy which was endorsed for public exhibition at its meeting on Tuesday 26 March 2024.

In an effort to responsibly manage its assets in a sustainable manner, Council updated the Asset Management Policy (the Policy) and Asset Management Strategy 2024-29 (the Strategy) to align with its growing asset management needs. 

The revised draft Asset Management Policy enables Council to implement a coordinated approach to the management of all assets essential to Council’s strategic and operational goals, and defines a broad framework and principles for the sustainable and effective lifecycle management of all asset groups.

The revised draft Asset Management Strategy outlines a coordinated approach to managing all assets crucial to Council’s strategic and operations objectives. It establishes a comprehensive framework and principles for the sustainable and efficient lifecycle management of all asset groups for current and future generations in Golden Plains. 

Engagement Update

Residents were invited to have their say on the draft Strategy and draft Policy from Wednesday 27 March to Friday 10 May 2024.

What Happens Next

The Asset Management Strategy and Asset Management Policy are scheduled to be adopted at the June 2024 Council meeting.

What is an Asset Management Policy?

The Asset Management Policy defines a broad framework and principles for the sustainable and effective lifecycle management of all asset groups required for current and future service delivery to the Golden Plains Shire community.
