Golden Plains Shire Council is seeking the communities’ thoughts on the Northern Streetscapes Framework Plan (the Framework Plan) to help inform the development of detailed concept designs for the Northern Streetscapes Project.
Developed following extensive community consultation throughout 2021, the Framework Plan provides a guide for the ongoing design and implementation of beautification works to enhance the character of the three town centres of Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton, which form the northern corridor of Golden Plains Shire along the Glenelg Highway.
Council will now embark on another consultation journey to engage the communities’ thoughts on whether the Framework Plan aligns with the current needs and aspirations of the community, or if adjustments are needed in the development of the detailed concept designs.
Residents are invited to review the plan and share their thoughts in several ways, including a series of Listening Posts which will be held on Thursday 12 September in the following townships:
• Smythesdale from 12 to 1.30pm out the front of Thru the Gate Café, 42 Brooke Street, Smythesdale
• Scarsdale from 2.30 to 4pm out the front of the Scarsdale General Store, and Post Office, 2069 Glenelg Highway, Scarsdale
• Linton from 4.30 to 6pm out the front of the Linton Takeaway, 11 Sussex Street, Linton
An online survey will also be available for residents unable to attend the Listening Posts.
