
An Edible Gardens – Sustainability & Self-Sufficiency Workshop will be held on Saturday 28 June from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, all about edible gardening for beginners.
Start growing your own food with minimal effort and cost. Start with easy-to-grow plants like herbs (basil, mint, rosemary), leafy greens (lettuce, spinach), and vegetables (tomatoes, carrots, peppers). Choose a sunny spot, use good-quality soil, and water consistently. Begin with small, manageable plots or containers to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Over time, you can expand your garden as you gain confidence and experience. An edible garden not only provides fresh, healthy produce but also helps you connect with nature and reduce grocery costs.
