About

Notice is hereby given that at its meeting held on 17 December 2019, Golden Plains Shire Council resolved to invite public submissions on a proposed name change from ‘Teesdale Tip Road’ to ‘Lightwood Road’.

The name is recommended in response to a request from a member of the community to formally rename the road to a name more fitting to the area and make it more appealing to visitors on approach to the town. The word ‘Lightwood’ is the common name for Acacia Implexa – a fast-growing Australian tree which can be found growing in close proximity to the road.
