Community members were invited to choose one of two proposed concept designs developed for the Lethbridge Play Space Upgrade from Monday 27 February to Monday 20 March, 2023.
This project will see an upgrade to the existing play space within the Lethbridge Recreation Reserve through the provision of new play equipment, street furniture, pathways and landscaping complementing the existing basketball court, skatepark and shelters. The upgrade project aims to encourage physical activity, increase social connection, attract township visitation and enhance liveability for current and future Lethbridge residents.
Following consultation with the Lethbridge community, including the Lethbridge Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, clubs and user groups at the Lethbridge Recreation Reserve, and Lethbridge Primary School, Council was successful in securing $200,000 funding from the Victorian Government’s Living Local Fund towards the Lethbridge Play Space Upgrade. Council will contribute $200,000 to fully fund and deliver the project.
Community members where encouraged to vote on their favourite design concept from the two options to ensure the Lethbridge Play Space Upgrade meets the needs of the community from Monday 27 February to Monday 30 March, 2023.
Design Concept 2 (see below) was the winner of the public vote and endorsed as the preferred design on 21 April 2023.
