About

Golden Plains Shire Council invites residents to view and share their feedback on the Revenue and Rating Plan – Rating Differentials Propositions Paper which was endorsed for public exhibition at last night’s Council meeting.

The Revenue and Rating Plan (the Plan) outlines how Council generates revenue, primarily through rates and charges, to ensure sufficient funding for activities. The Plan is a key part of Council’s overall strategic planning framework designed to help achieve the community’s vision.

The current Plan is now being reviewed and a material part of that review is to determine how the rates will be distributed between property owners under Council’s differential rates system.

As part of the review, a Rating Differentials Propositions Paper has been developed which provides a comparison of the options modelled, outlines key objectives and provides possible approaches that could be applied to the Plan.

How You Can Be Involved

Feedback on the Propositions Paper is invited from Thursday 24 April to 5pm, Thursday 8 May 2025, and can be completed below. The survey will also be available at Council’s Customer Hubs located at 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn, and 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
