This year’s Council Budget delivers the projects, services and infrastructure that supports this commitment, now and for the future.

Inspection of Draft Budget 2019-20 - This document is available for inspection now and through Monday 27 May 2019 between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, at Council's Customer Service Centres: 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn; 68 Sussex Street, Linton; and at The Well, Heales Street, Smythesdale (open Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 2pm); at the Bannockburn Library during Library opening times; or by selecting the button below.

How you can be involved

How You Can Be Involved: 

Written submissions to Council on Draft Budget 2019-20 may be lodged by Monday 27 May 2019.  Submissions can be made in following ways:

  • Through the ‘Have your say’ link below; or
  • Emailed to; or
  • By mail addressed to the Director Corporate Services, Golden Plains Shire Council, PO Box 111, Bannockburn, VIC 3331.

Any person may make a written submission on these documents in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989. They may request to appear in person or be represented by another specified person to present the submission at a Special Council Meeting at 6pm on Tuesday 11 June 2019, at the Bannockburn Shire Hall, 12 High St.

What Happens Next

What Happens Next: 

Submissions received by 5pm, Monday 27 May 2019 will be considered by Council at a Special Council Meeting at 6pm on Tuesday 11 June 2019 and all submitters are welcome to speak to their submission before Council.  

The Budget 2019-20 will then be presented to Council at its Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday 25 June 2019 to consider adoption of the final version.


Friday 26 April 2019: Draft Budget 2019-20 available for viewing and submissions open

Wednesday 8 May 2019: Pop-In Session from 5 to 7pm at The Well, 19 Heales St, Smythesdale

Wednesday 15 May 2019: Pop-In Session from 5 to 7pm at Bannockburn Shire Hall, 12 High St

Monday 27 May 2019: Written submissions close at 5pm

Tuesday 11 June 2019: 6pm, Oral submissions presented at Special Council Meeting

Tuesday 11 June 2019: 7pm, Confidential Council Briefing to consider all submissions

Tuesday 25 June 2019: 6pm, Ordinary Meeting of Council, including consideraion of adoption of Budget 2019-20
