Council's new Community Leadership Program aims to develop emerging and aspiring leaders within the Golden Plains community, supporting participants to improve their leadership skills, build their knowledge, skills and confidence, and develop community-led initiatives and events. Expressions of interest were open from Monday 7 February to Friday 11 March. 

About

The new Community Leadership Program will provide eligible community members with the ability to build and strengthen their capacity in community leadership and participation.

The program aims to develop emerging and aspiring leaders within the Golden Plains community, supporting participants to improve their leadership skills, build their knowledge, skills and confidence, and develop community-led initiatives and events.

Through weekly online training sessions focused on improving leadership capacity and competency, participants will gain a stronger understanding of civic participation and government, and learn how they can best progress the change they want to create in their community.

Engagement Update

Expressions of Interest to join the Community Leadership Program were open from Monday 7 February 
to Friday 11 March, 2022. 

Community members who live, work, study or volunteer in Golden Plains Shire and are looking to 
improve their leadership skills, connect with other community leaders and gain experience working 
with local government are were invited to apply. 

Expressions of Interest will now be reviewed, with successful applicants to be notified before 
the program begins online on Tuesday 15 March.
