About

Golden Plains Shire Council has now developed a masterplan for the Leighdale Equestrian Centre in Teesdale. This important piece of work provides recommendations for the future planning, development and enhancement of facilities and programs at the Leighdale Equestrian Centre and will assist Council to support both existing and future community groups who utilise the Centre.

The Leighdale Equestrian Centre provides the local community with a range of opportunities for equestrian participation, including dressage, cross country, showjumping and carriage driving. Clubs currently based at the Leighdale Equestrian Centre include:

  • Leighdale Pony Club
  • Inverleigh Riding Club
  • Geelong and District Carriage Driving Club
  • Bannockburn and Teesdale Riding Club.

Engagement Update

Council adopted the final Leighdale Equestrian Centre Masterplan on 25 August 2020. The Masterplan was developed with feedback from 163 community survey responses and 22 key stakeholders of the centre, and Council thanks all these residents and stakeholder groups for their feedback during the consultation process. What Happens Next

Council’s new Leighdale Equestrian Centre Masterplan will inform strategic planning, development and delivery of infrastructure and programming opportunities at the facility over the next 10 years.
