Youth Lounge

The Youth Lounge is located within the Bannockburn Cultural Centre at 27 High St Bannockburn. The youth space contains gaming consoles, table tennis, board games, card games, study spaces, musical equipment, free WiFi and healthy snacks. The Youth Lounge is supervised by Councils Youth Development staff and is open on Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm – 6:30pm during the school term and on advertised times in the school holidays. Young people aged 12 - 25 years are encouraged to get involved. Permission forms for young people under 18 years of age must be completed by a parent or guardian and will be distributed by our Youth Development staff. Young people aged 18 years of age and over can proivde their own permission but must have a valid Working With Children Check which our Youth Development staff can arrange.

Pop Up Youth Spaces

Pop Up Youth Spaces have been trialed successfully during 2021 at community centres in Inverleigh and Meredith. Pop Up Youth Spaces are offered after school from 3:30pm – 6:30pm and for the duration of the school term. The spaces are supervised by Councils Youth Development staff and contain gaming consoles, table tennis, board games, card games, study spaces, musical equipment, free WiFi and healthy snacks. Pop UP Youth Spaces enable Councils Youth Development team to better reach and engage young people across our various communities.

Golden Plains Shire spans the Traditional lands of the Wadawurrung and Eastern Maar people. Council acknowledges them as the traditional Traditional Owners and Custodians of this land and pays its respects to Wadawurrung Elders and Eastern Maar Elders past, present and emerging. Council extends that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ppeople who are part of Golden Plains Shire.
