Golden Plains Youth Hub
The Golden Plains Youth Hub was opened in April 2022 and provides a dedicated space for young people aged 12 to 25 from across Golden Plains Shire.
Located on Milton Street in Bannockburn, the Hub is situated next to the YMCA recreation stadium and opposite the Shire’s only high school, Bannockburn P-12 College.
Council’s Youth Development Team are committed to listening to young people’s voices and developing activities influenced by participants’ interests and needs. Activities at the Youth Hub can include drop-in sessions, cooking or hospitality training, team building, leadership, arts and craft and event management.
The Youth Development team supports and actively promotes the inclusion of all young people, including those from diverse background. The Golden Plains Youth Hub is a place for all young people regardless of their race, culture, gender, sexuality or ability.
The Youth Hub provides healthy food options and promotes overall wellbeing through food choice, positive role modelling and the creating of a safe space.
