Update regarding Inverleigh trees

Roads & Transport
Inverleigh

The Arborists report has indicated that the Inverleigh residents are loving their trees, but sometimes to their detriment, are parking under them, which is threatening the health and stability of the trees.

To protect both the local community and the trees, Council has temporarily sectioned off two trees on High Street South Inverleigh, between East Street and Dundas Streets (one River Red Gum and one Pine tree) as parking underneath them puts the trees at risk of dropping limbs or being permanently damaged. Currently this is being done with star pickets and flagging, but Council plans to make this a permanent arrangement using bollards.

Council believes this is the best arrangement for both the community and the future health of the trees. The permanent bollards will be installed around the two trees following communication to interested local residents. Council appreciates the understanding of local residents.

Update 30 October 2018: Bollards have been installed.
