Council’s significant infrastructure upgrade program continues, with the tender for the replacement of Paddys Gully Road Bridge awarded at last week’s 27 July Council Meeting.

The ageing single span timber bridge over Mount Misery Creek in Rokewood Junction is currently limited to 10 tonnes and is in poor condition. Council awarded the tender to local firm Begbies Contracting for $579,856.11 (excluding GST) to replace the bridge with a two-lane concrete bridge, allowing light and heavy vehicles full access.

The project is jointly funded by Council and $318,680 from the second round of the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Construction is expected to begin in September 2021 with the new bridge to open December 2021.
