Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation with the assistance of Council staff and CFA volunteers will be conducting a planned burn at Council’s Bakers Lane Reserve in Teesdale tomorrow, Friday 7 May, 2021.
The burn will continue cultural burning practices which were returned to Country on this site through the Wiyn-murrup yangarramela – Fire Spirit Comes Back project in 2017.
The burn is being supported by the Corangamite CMA through the National Landcare Program, Country Fire Authority, DELWP and the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research.
The burn is being conducted under strict weather prescriptions to minimise the risk to the community. Residents may see and experience localised smoke.
