Sustainable House Day is being held across our region on Sunday 14 October and an amazing Teesdale home is one of the featured properties.

Residents are invited to visit any or all of the 13 properties opening around Geelong, on the Bellarine and in Golden Plains. Now in its tenth year, Geelong Sustainability is coordinating this national event on behalf of the City of Greater Geelong. This unique event provides the public with the opportunity to tour exemplar sustainable homes and gain inspirational ideas and practical advice from homeowners and technical experts.

The brand new 9-star home at Teesdale has been built to European ‘passiv haus’ standards by local builder APHI Projects. It features triple-glazed windows and doors, a highly insulated and sealed building envelope, fire resistant materials, heat exchange system, bionic wood heater and paper rock bench tops. All water is treated and reused onsite on this beautiful 2.5-acre bush block filled with 300 year old red gums.

Residents are invited people to discover firsthand the economic, wellbeing and environmental benefits of sustainable living and smarter homes. You will be able to wander through well-orientated homes and feel firsthand the benefits of passive solar house design! It is knowledge not money that is the key to a comfortable, cost-effective home! So whether you are building a new home, planning a major renovation, wanting some DIY ideas or just happy to admire lovely homes and productive gardens, there are places to visit that will inform and inspire!

Admission is $2 per house for adults with accompanied children free. Find out more and register for the event here.
