Inverleigh
At this week’s monthly meeting, Council received the voting results of the Inverleigh Play Space Naming consultation, that was undertaken from 16 December 2020 to 29 January 2021.
At the close of voting, Council had received 115 valid votes for the name of the new play space at 1 East Street, with Yerram Yaluk Bun receiving the most votes:
- Yerram Yaluk Bun (translation: bank of the morning river): 35
- Leigh River Park: 34
- Inverleigh Play Park: 24
- Inverleigh Community Park: 22
Council will now consider the voting results in accordance with the Geographic Place Names Act 1998 and will make a final determination on the name at its March 2021 Council Meeting.
