Pop-up conversation post in Inverleigh a success

Inverleigh

Golden Plains Shire Council ran a successful 'Conversations with Council' pop-up conversation post in June, at the Inverleigh vs. Bannockburn match at the Inverleigh Reserve.

Around 50 community members engaged, with many community members showing interest in the drafts of the Inverleigh Streetscape Masterplan and Structure Plan. Other topics discussed included rates, roads, community infrastructure, and female participation in sport.

The pop-up post was attended by Mayor Kirby; Councillors Evans, Phelan, and Sharkey; our CEO, two Directors, and staff from our Planning, Works and Recreation teams.

This particular Conversation Post was part of a new calendar of pop-up ‘Conversations with Council’, which are being held across the Shire in 2018. These involve Councillors and Senior Managers fielding community questions from residents, whilst out and about in Golden Plains Shire townships (find out more here).

The next 'Conersations with Council' post will be on Wednesday 1 August at Bannockburn Country Plaza; further information about this will be provided in the coming weeks.
