Organisation of the month: Hands of Change

Business & Economic Development
Meredith

Hands of Change is a Meredith-based charity and NDIS provider. Started by Linda Wong and Chris Ardrey in 2016, they offer hands-on programs for individuals, businesses, corporate organisations and NDIS customers.

Programs such as Equihands use interaction with horses to promote learning and social engagement helping participants cope with real-life challenges, as well as learning about leadership, team building, health and wellbeing.

Participants enjoy the outdoor environment, good food and horse-related activities to help them achieve their professional, educational and personal goals. Hands of Change also uses interactive virtual reality in their training programs.

Linda and Chris moved to Meredith in 2011 after looking for a rural community to set up their charity. “Meredith had the friendly village atmosphere that we were looking for,” said Linda. “We’ve received so much support and engagement from the community, and in return we hope to make a difference to people’s lives.”
