Open for Recreation

Media Release

Some popular outdoor recreational locations have been reopened in Golden Plains Shire Council today.

Following the latest COVID-19 restricted activity directions from the Victorian Government, a list of recreational and sporting activities have been given the green light to resume across the State including outdoor group fitness, tennis, bowls, golf, equestrian activities, fishing and boating.

In the interests of ongoing public safety, specific social distancing requirements and restrictions on numbers for these activities are still in place. For detailed information on the requirements, please visit www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus.

Today, Council removed facility closure signs at tennis courts across the Shire and have communicated the changed restrictions to the local committees of management. Please note that, in line with Victorian Government directives, closures and closure signs are still in place at all playgrounds, skate parks, bike parks and campgrounds across the Shire.
