Nominations Open: Golden Plains Shire Council Community Awards 2021

Nominations are now open for the Golden Plains Shire Council Community Awards 2021.

The Golden Plains Shire Council Community Awards 2021 are an opportunity to formally acknowledge extraordinary individuals and community groups who make an outstanding contribution to Golden Plains Shire.

The 2021 Awards will be presented to three individuals: Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, and Young Citizen of the Year. In addition, the Community Impact Award recognises the valuable contribution of a community event, project, group or team.

Nominee achievements are welcome in fields including community service, arts and culture, environment, business, economic development and sport.

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Helena Kirby encourages Shire residents to nominate community member whose contributions to the community make Golden Plains such a special place to live.  

“Every year the Golden Plains Shire Council Community Awards are a highlight on the Council calendar as we take the opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions so many local people make to the Golden Plains Shire community.

“With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 has been another challenging year for us all but the spirit of the Golden Plains Shire community has again shone through. We’ve seen so many incredible acts of service from individuals and groups across the Shire and Council is pleased to have an opportunity to recognise these exceptional community members.

“Council encourages all residents to reflect on those who have contributed so much to Golden Plains Shire in 2021 and submit a nomination to honour and thank them for their positive impact on our community.”

Nominations for the Golden Plains Shire Council Community Awards 2021 are open from Thursday 14 October to 5pm, Thursday 18 November, 2021.

The easy nomination form can be completed online on Golden Plains Shire Council Community Awards 2021 Have Your Say page. Hard copies of the nomination form are available at Council’s Customer Service Centres at 2 Pope St, Bannockburn or The Well, 19 Heales St, Smythesdale; open from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
