New Shade Sail For Bannockburn Playground

Golden Plains Shire Council welcomes last week’s news from the Victorian Government that Council has been successful in securing a $26,655 grant for a new shade sail in Bannockburn.

On Monday 9 December, Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney MP announced Golden Plains Shire Council was among 15 successful organisations across the region to benefit from the fourth round of the Community Shade Grants Program. This funding will be used for the installation of permanent shade sails over the playground at the Bannockburn Recreation Centre.

The new shade sail will be positioned to maximise shade cover, creating a safer and more inviting play space.

Golden Plains Shire Council’s active lobbying and applications for external funding grants from state and federal governments, allows Council to redirect our budget revenue to provide full or majority support to projects in the smaller townships across the municipality.
