New customer service coming to Smythesdale

Media Release
Smythesdale

The extra service follows community feedback calling for more ways for the community to access Council in the northern end of the Shire. The additional service will complement Council’s existing Customer Service Centres in Bannockburn and Linton.

The hours of operation will initially be Tuesday to Friday between 10am and 2pm, with a view to expand this in the future.

Mayor, Cr Helena Kirby, said she is proud that Council is actively listening to the community.

“It is important to Council that residents feel heard and have good access to Council,” she said.

“Expanding our Customer Service points is just one way we can make it easier for residents to get in touch with Council.

“It is great that we can offer residents this extra service, where they will be able to ask questions, pay rates and soon even return library books.

“Smythesdale is our second largest community, so having a Customer Service establishment here will be of great benefit to residents of Smythesdale and surrounds, and add to The Well’s reputation as a northern service hub.”

“The Well is a Council building that already offers a range of valuable services to the community, so the new Customer Service component will make the facility even more valuable.

“Customer Service at The Well is just another way we are delivering on our value of fairness and promoting equitable access to our services,” Cr Kirby finished.

The Smythesdale Well is located at 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale. EFTPOS will be available from 6 March however cash payments will not be able to be accepted initially. Linton Customer Service remains able to accept cash payments.

Residents are reminded they can get in touch with Council in a number of ways:
