New CEO to drive Golden Plains Shire Council forward

Media Release

On 13 December, Golden Plains Shire Council officially welcomed their newly appointed CEO, Eric Braslis and farewelled Rod Nicholls, after 23 years as CEO.

Eric Braslis left his position as CEO of Gannawarra Shire to take the reins of Golden Plains. He brings with him extensive experience in the Government sector, with previous roles at senior executive level at various Melbourne councils and the City of Ballarat.

Eric is delighted to join Golden Plains Shire Council.

He said, “I look forward to meeting the challenges of this new role.

“I am highly motivated to move Golden Plains Shire Council forward with a focus on communications and engagement.”

Cr Helena Kirby, Mayor, is delighted to welcome Eric.

“While we will miss Rod and are grateful for everything he helped achieve in Golden Plains Shire, we are excited to welcome Eric, and for the positive change he will drive,” said Cr Kirby.

“Eric is highly experienced and full of energy – and will, no doubt, make a meaningful difference, both in the community and the organisation,” Cr Kirby finished.
