Naming the new Inverleigh Play Space

At its August Ordinary Council Meeting, Golden Plains Shire Council resolved to give notice of intention to name the site of the future Inverleigh Community Play Space the Inverleigh River Park.

The name was recommended in response to community consultation undertaken by the Inverleigh Community Play Space group, with the name to be used on the land associated with the new play space, Inverleigh public amenity facility and skate park.

The Inverleigh Community Play Space was one of 237 project ideas from across Victoria chosen to share in $30 million in community grant funding through the Victorian Government’s Pick My Project initiative.

Members of the community are able to make a written submission on this name in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989. Submissions must be received in writing by 5pm on Friday 18 October 2019. Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Golden Plains Shire, PO Box 111, Bannockburn VIC 3331 or emailed to [email protected]

Members of the public may also request in their submission to be heard in support of their submission and/or to nominate a representative to present their submission at Council’s October Ordinary Meeting on Tuesday 22 October 2019 at the Linton Customer Service Centre.
