Local Food: Sharing and Caring - Why the Food Movement is Unstoppable

Community

In celebration of World Food Day 2018 (Tuesday 16 October), Smart Living Ballarat presents a free mini forum to discuss the topic 'Local Food: Sharing & Caring'. Representatives from local food distribution and service groups will discuss why the food movement is both unstoppable and important in Ballarat.

"The philosophy of the food movement even goes further, by recognising that our planetary problems and our social problems are really the same problem. The food movement therefore represents the beginnings of a historic ecological and social shift that will transform our relationships with each other and with the natural world."

The quote above is by New York based international food advocate and crop scientist, Jonathan Latham, PhD who recently presented at a similar food forum in Daylesford. His article, 'Why the Food Movement is Unstoppable' will form the backbone for our discussion on the day.
