Keeping Young People Connected In-Person and Online

Youth

Golden Plains Shire Council is supporting young people across the Shire to stay connected with a range of online and in-person activities over the next four weeks.

Council’s Youth Development team has created a series of weekly online activities to support young people to connect and have fun.

The series includes a variety of activities to meet a diverse range of needs and interests, and local young people aged 12 to 17 are encouraged to attend. All online activities are free and will run from 4.30 to 5.30pm on:

The online free series begins on Wednesday 20 October with Online Gaming and will conclude on Thursday 11 November. The activities will be supervised by Council’s Youth Development team and provide young people with a virtual space to catch up, meet new people and have fun.

The Online Gaming sessions will present participants with a series of fun and engaging games for all abilities and interests each Wednesday, while young people will have the opportunity to test their knowledge across a variety of topics with Thursday afternoons.

The Bannockburn Youth Space at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High St, Bannockburn, will also be open on Thursday afternoons from 3.30 to 5.30pm.

The Youth Space provides young people with the opportunity to meet new people, build skills and learn more about other activities for young people in the Shire. Free healthy food and drinks are available, along with a range of unstructured activities.

The space is supervised by Council’s Youth Development team and COVID-safe practices are in place.
