G21 councils, which includes Golden Plains Shire Council, and Hockey Victoria are working together to create a strategy to guide and support the development of hockey across the region for the next 10 years.
Hockey is such a great sport, and Council is delighted to be a part of helping develop and support it over the next decade.
Participation in organised sport, such as hockey, is associated with better physical health outcomes, including lower prevalence of overweight and obesity in people, and type 2 diabetes, and improved social, emotional and psychosocial wellbeing for children, adolescents and adults (VicHealth 2016).
