Help Guide The Future Of The Linton Community Hub

Linton

Golden Plains Shire Council is inviting local residents to guide the management, activation and future use of the Linton Community Hub.

Once home to the old Shire of Grenville, the historic building in the heart of Linton was most recently used as a limited Customer Service Centre, meeting space and office for Council. Following an upgrade to Council’s Smythesdale Customer Service Centre at The Well to allow for a full-time service, customer services were transitioned out of the Linton Community Hub.

In order to ensure the building remains active and accessible to the community, Council is inviting interested residents or community groups to form a Committee of Management. The Committee will enter into a Management Agreement with Golden Plains Shire Council to manage and activate the facility, including facilitating community bookings and usage of the building’s rooms.

Nominations to form the Committee of Management are now open until 8 January 2021. Nomination forms are available here, and can be sent to [email protected]. For a hard copy version, please call Council’s Customer Service team on 5220 7111.

Applicants will be considered based on their commitment to deliver a model of management that encourages and facilitates further community use, and their interest in and commitment to the Linton community.

All nominations will be considered by a panel comprising Council and community representatives, with all applicants informed of the outcome of the selection process by 31 January 2021. It is anticipated that the newly formed Committee will first meet in February 2021.

Residents or community groups seeking more information on the Committee of Management and the future of Linton Community Hub can contact Council’s Manager Community and Council Planning at 5220 7111.
